Packaging is everything. A $70 perfume can be sold for $150 just because of packaging. Infact, packaging contributes to brand recognition. A red-colored diet-can may be a Coke and a blue one may be a Pepsi. Though many companies and their patrons understand the importance of packaging, this market that is filled with innovative creators and seasoned marketers could not have extended the use in other fields. Here are some real implications of the art of packaging.
Courier Services: How about increasing the revenue during the festive seasons? The courier
services such as FedEx, UPS, etc could sell glittered boxes or ribbon-laced envelopes during the Christmas or Thanksgiving with less or no cost to customer. Or sell colored envelopes. I would definitely want to use different color of envelopes depend on my mood. The increase in business will overshadow this investment.
Perfume Industry: The famous and glamorous perfume industry!! Interestingly, the expensive perfume collection is still considered high-end accessories even though it complements any event or night-party. Though the packaging itself can tell a lot more about the company, an important personalized effect can make a huge difference. How about gifting a set of exquisite bottles of different perfume with a name of the person on them? I would definitely want to pay a little more for that gift.
